Scott Clarke
My name is Scott Clarke. I was born and raised in Canada, completing a Bachelor of Arts in English and History at Queen’s University. After seven months in South Korea teaching English to lower elementary school students, I returned to Canada and taught high school-level English and math courses to adult learners.
I trained as a teacher at the University of Ottawa, then moved to Taiwan, teaching literature and social studies at a private school for seven-plus years. I then taught fifth grade at an International Baccalaureate (IB) school and ended up spending more than 13 years in Taiwan, tutoring on the side throughout.
All told, I have been teaching for 15-plus years.
My wife, daughter, and I moved to the Greater Houston area in 2022. I like to cook for them, making my own Canadian-style ground turkey poke bowl, and read fiction, with Black Swan Green, by David Mitchell, being one of my favorites. Otherwise, I enjoy watching sports highlights, particularly basketball, soccer, and hockey, and playing fantasy basketball and soccer every winter.
