My name is Deidre Dawson. I have over five years of experience helping students succeed on standardized tests like the ISEE, ACT, and SAT, as well as in high school math and science courses. I specialize in many AP subjects, including AB/BC Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Environmental Science. My goal is to make challenging material approachable and to give students the tools they need to achieve their academic goals.

I have worked extensively with students from some of Houston’s top private schools, including The Kinkaid School, The Emery/Weiner School, Episcopal High School, St. Thomas High School, and Second Baptist School. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the high academic standards and unique needs of private school students and families.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and Honors in Global and Community Leadership. My background in science and leadership has shaped my personalized tutoring style, which focuses on building confidence and fostering a love for learning.

When I’m not tutoring, I love spending time with my family, especially my daughter. She’s always ready for outdoor adventures and helping me in the garden. I also enjoy hands-on projects, which are a great way to balance out the mental work of teaching.
