Emily Baade
Hi! My name is Emily Baade, and I am a high school science teacher with a Master Teacher designation from the state of Texas. When I was in high school, I scored 5’s on 16 AP exams and became the 2012 State AP Scholar for Colorado. I scored a 36 the first time I took the ACT and went on to graduate as a valedictorian and National Merit Scholar. I received a full-ride scholarship to the University of Alabama, where I graduated summa cum laude with a double major in physics and history (why not? I love both!). Most recently, I earned my masters degree in education from SMU.As a classroom educator, I have experience teaching AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, and AP Physics C. My favorite part of teaching is finding the “wow” in every lesson — whether that is catching bugs to measure biodiversity, ruining Finding Nemo with cell signaling, or shooting Nerf guns to practice kinematics. I believe that students can learn anything if they put in the effort, and my AP Biology kids have a 90% pass rate at our Title I school. I work hard so my students know both the material and the exam strategies so well they can “get inside the test maker’s head.”In my free time, you might find me training for a marathon, watching college football, listening to an audiobook in Russian, or traveling to a new country.Excited to meet you and help you build the confidence to ace your exams! 🙂
