Michelle Sanders-Limonthas
Michelle has been a dedicated educator for over fifteen years. She holds a B.A. in biology from Amherst College, an M.Ed in S.T.E.M. Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Cincinnati, and an M.S. in Integrative Health Sciences from ACHS.
Since 2009, Michelle has been a secondary science instructor, teaching a broad range of courses, including biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy and physiology, forensic science, health, and AP biology. During her career in this role, she has also branched out to serve in many educational positions, such as an independent educational consultant, a K-12 district STEM director, a Minority University Research and Education Program Coordinator, and a dean and College/Career counselor. She has experience tutoring all high school subjects, with a specialty in Math and Science subjects. In addition, she has years of experience as a college-prep tutor, helping students secure their dreams of attending their schools of choice.
Michelle’s tutoring philosophy hinges on a strong foundation of trust and personalization to the learner. Her teaching style is founded upon three principles: utilizing multiple intelligences, incorporating student interests, and understanding the individual which each of her students is and can become. In taking this approach, Michelle constantly personalizes instruction to the student as they create new and exciting pathways of learning. Because she believes so firmly in active learning, she incorporates a wide array of instructional techniques including kinesthetic learning, student autonomy, and aligning student interests to course material. Ultimately, she believes that each of our life experiences plays a role in shaping the individuals we are today, so she seeks every opportunity to provide students with the capacity to apply academic concepts to real world scenarios.
Outside of serving her students and community, Michelle also enjoys spending time with her family and pets, solving all types of puzzles, playing tennis, and watching movies.
